The Green Zeppelin and The Plug to Nothing
MG-crossover fantasy by Lindsey Talbot. It pairs the playful philosophical adventure of The Phantom Tollbooth with the accessible, all-ages storytelling of The Cat Who Saved the Library.
Lily finds herself in white emptiness with no idea who she is. At once, she is pulled aboard a leaf-covered zeppelin into a world where everyone waits for the moment she remembers. Her arrival comes as little surprise to Dmitri, the pilot of the Green Zeppelin. After a lifetime traveling through the unknown, he knows moments like these are never without purpose. When the burning Tree of Creation is felled, the forest withers, daylight fades, and the wise bear forgets himself, it’s up to Lily to restore the light. A young fire keeper joins Lily and Dmitri as they set out to recover what remains of the Tree from the Dung Beetle and his bumbling brigade of bugs before the light is fully concealed. Only when Lily remembers herself will the light return.
